Grades Explained
Japanese auto auctions are famously strict. The inspector's grade determines the exact quality and market value of the vehicle before it ever leaves Japan. Here is what we look for when sourcing your vehicle.

Brand NewEssentially a brand-new car, often with delivery mileage only (under 100km). Absolutely immaculate condition, interior and exterior.
Grade 5
ExceptionalA vehicle in pristine condition. Usually under 50,000km with a spotless interior and exterior. Very close to brand-new standards.
Grade 4.5
ExcellentExcellent condition with extremely minor blemishes (like a tiny scratch practically invisible). The most common grade for high-quality imports.
Grade 4
GoodA very good, solid vehicle. It may have a few visible scratches or tiny dents, but overall mechanically sound and highly presentable.
Interior Grading (A, B, C)
Letters represent interior condition. 'A' is immaculate, 'B' shows minor wear, and 'C' implies visible wear/stains requiring cleaning.

How long does the vehicle import process take in Sri Lanka?
Typically, from the day we win the bid at a Japan auction to the day the vehicle is cleared at Colombo port, it takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks. This includes transport to the Japanese port, JAAI inspection, shipping transit, and local clearing.
Can I use a Vehicle Permit for importing?
Yes. We specialize in importing vehicles using concessionary permits for doctors, government officials, and military personnel. We handle the permit documentation to ensure you receive the maximum tax benefit.
Do you provide warranties on imported vehicles?
Yes. We arrange comprehensive third-party warranties (typically 2 years or 100,000km for engine and gearbox, including hybrid batteries) through Sri Lanka's leading automotive warranty providers upon request.
